Obituary of Melody Rose Laird Mitchell

Melody Rose Laird Mitchell Funeral services for Melody Rose Laird Mitchell of Union, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Doug Roam, pastor of Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Elsberry, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Parsons, Matthew Parsons, Codey Parsons, Mark Williams, Bob Owens, Matt Eye, James Thompson, Dustin Tolke and Denny Sanders, Jr. Ms. Mitchell, 40, passed away late Wednesday evening, October 31, 2007 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington, MO. Born December 3, 1966 in Iowa City, IA, she was the daughter of Cecil Harry and Dolores Katherine Naber Laird, Sr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Dolores Laird; and one sister, Carolyn Sue Laird. Survivors include three sons: Dennis Ray Parsons, Matthew Houston Lee Parsons and Codey Allen Parsons, all of Union; and her special friend, William Hoeft of Union. She also leaves three brothers: Cecil Laird, Jr. of O'Fallon, MO, David Laird of St. Charles, MO, and John Laird and his wife, Shelia, of Union; one sister, Norma DeBoard and her husband, Michael, of Jonesboro, AR; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
