Obituary of William A. Schulte

William "Bill" Andrew Schulte A Prayer Service for William "Bill" Andrew Schulte of Winfield, MO will be held at 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Msgr. Gregory Schmidt, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Old Monroe, will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10:45 a.m., Friday, November 9, 2007 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Jo Diederich, Harry Stonebraker, Ken Kaiser, Don Turnbull, Bud Strunk, Jim Kaltenbach, Al Meyer; and three deceased friends: Danny Krachey, Tommy Tippit and Butch Reese. Mr. Schulte, 66, died Tuesday afternoon, November 6, 2007 at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. Born March 10, 1941 in Old Monroe, MO, he was the son of George William and Catherine Caroline Dreisewerd Schulte. He was a 1959 graduate of Winfield High School in Winfield. Mr. Schulte served his country in the U.S. Army from July 17, 1959 until being honorably discharged on May 18, 1962. He was united in marriage on September 14, 1989 in Troy, MO to Elaine C. Steiner. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. Mr. Schulte worked for many years as a commercial carpenter, retiring on January 1, 1999. He was a member of the VFW Post #9064 in Elsberry and the Carpenters Union Local #1875. He was a "Man's Man", the one and only Bill Schulte. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Catherine Schulte; four brothers: Danny Schulte, Edward Schulte, Daniel Schulte and Edward Schulte. Survivors include his beloved wife of 18 years, Elaine Schulte of Winfield; two sons: Daniel Schulte and his wife, Sandra, of Winfield and Bart Schulte and his companion, Misty Redd, also of Winfield; two daughters: Tracy Meyer and her husband, Mike, of Troy and Trisha Schulte of Columbia, MO; and seven grandchildren: Jacob, Ashton and Alexis Meyer, Sydney, William "Liam" and Callie Schulte, and Colton Schulte. He also leaves six brothers: Robert Schulte and his wife, Elsie, of Troy, Leonard Schulte and his wife, Diane, of Winfield, Allen Schulte and his wife, Brenda, of Old Monroe, James Schulte and his wife, Carole, of Winfield, Herbert Schulte and his wife, Lou, of Old Monroe and Eugene Schulte and his wife, Carol, of Old Monroe; two sisters: Rita Gilbert of St. Charles and Mary Lou Schulte of Old Monroe; several nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO.
