Obituary of Joseph Eugene Brockman, Sr.

Joseph Eugene “Gene” Brockman, Sr. of Elsberry, MO passed away early Wednesday morning, January 15, 2025 at his home, at the age of 73. Joe was born on June 5, 1951 in Owensboro, KY, the son of James Bernard and Marie Wilkins Brockman. Gene was united in marriage on October 16, 1968 in Glenville, KY to Peggy Jean Galloway. This union was blessed with two sons: Joseph, Jr. and Christopher. Gene worked as the Facilities Manager for Rhone-Poulnec. He was a member of Whiting Masonic Lodge #613 AF&AM in Whiting, IN. He enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie Brockman; one son, Christopher Brockman; one sister, Regina Farmer; and one brother, Bobby Blandford. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Peggy Brockman of Elsberry; one son, Joseph Brockman, Jr. (Brad Waggoner) of Elsberry; one daughter-in-law, Holly Whipple Brockman of Bethalto, IL; three grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob and his wife, Madison, and Madelyn; and two great-grandchildren: Adela and Luca. Gene also leaves his nephew, Dwight Blandford; his nieces: Pam Morris, Donna Farmer, Sandy Aull and Charlesa Yeiser; other relatives and friends.
