Obituary of Dennis Charles Rice

Funeral Services for Dennis Charles Rice of Elsberry, MO will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Donnie Kinsler will officiate. Graveside Inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Elsberry City Cemetery. Dennis, 72, passed away Friday morning, October 18, 2024 at his home. Born October 3, 1952 in St. Louis, MO he was the son of Charles Rice and Mary Blondell Williams Rice. Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was united in marriage on December 18, 1993 in Elsberry to Christina Rose “Chris” Felty Raney Rice. Dennis worked on the assembly line for Chrysler, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed reading, watching movies and being with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Rice and Mary Rice; one sister, Linda Ellis; and his wife, Chris Rice, who died on August 6, 2009. Survivors include his children: David Rice and his significant other, Andrea Mathis, and Kimber Cordsiemon, all of Elsberry; and ten grandchildren: Lily, Trey, Sean, Kaiden, Tinley, Brice, Xavier, Gabriel, Amijah and Brayden. Dennis also leaves three brothers: Bruce Rice and his wife, Lorraine, of Hazelwood, MO, Randy Rice of Elsberry, and Kendall Rice, also of Elsberry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
