Obituary of Charlene Kuntz

Funeral Services for Ellen Charlene Kuntz of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Sammie Lorton, pastor of Whiteside Holiness Church, will officiate with burial in New Hope Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be John Behringer, II., Gene Hunter, Leroy Hunter, Austin Raddatz, Leonard Woodson and Charles Woodson. Charlene was born on December 7, 1954 in St. Charles, MO, the daughter of Charles Henry and Sylvia Elizabeth Harding Hunter. She passed away early Saturday morning, October 5, 2024 at Sunterra Springs Rehabilitation Center in Dardenne Prairie, MO. Charlene was married for several years to Lloyd William Kuntz. This union was blessed with four children: Lloyd William, II, Danial Duane, Jerry Lynn and Rebecca Charlene. She was employed for many years as a healthcare aid for Pyramid Home Health. Charlene enjoyed singing Karaoke and making crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sylvia Hunter; seven brothers: Royce, Lee, Lawrence, Marvin, Norman, Joe and Floyd Hunter; one sister, Dolly Woodson-Jondle; one son, Jerry Lynn “Gator” Kuntz; two grandsons: Cody and Colton Raddatz; and one great-grandchild. Survivors include her longtime companion, John Jacob Behringer of Elsberry; two sons: Lloyd W. Kuntz, II of Jonesburg, MO, and Danial Kuntz and his wife, Sara, of Bowling Green, MO; one daughter, Rebecca Raddatz and her husband, Steve, of Bowling Green; two step-children: John Behringer, II. of Elsberry, and Carla Zuniga and her husband, Enrique, of Plano, TX; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Tommy Hunter of Elsberry; three sisters: Shirley Kitson of Winfield, MO, Jeannette Creech of Elsberry, and Janie Mae Bossard of Elsberry; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
