Obituary of James Cecil Crenshaw

Funeral Services for James Cecil Crenshaw of Winfield, MO will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Karla Cunningham will officiate with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Foley, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Berrey, Ron Tiller, Kenny Penrod, Dan Foley, Jason East, Austin East, Michael Berrey and Ryan Dixon. Jim, 81, went to his heavenly home on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy, MO, surrounded by his wife, Charlotte and loving family. Jim was born November 7, 1942, the son of Lloyd C. and Mary Isabel Crenshaw. He was a 1960 graduate of Winfield High School. Jim was united in marriage on February 12, 1961 to Charlotte Ann Collins. This union was blessed with five daughters: Diana, Debra, Mona, Christina and Jamie. Jim farmed for many years and worked as an owner and operator of Jim Crenshaw Excavating, retiring in 2007. He never met a stranger and showed compassion and generosity to all he met. Active in the community, Jim served on the board of People’s Bank and Trust for 15 years, the Winfield Senior Housing Board, Winfield Lion’s Club and the board of Winfield Public Water District #1. Jim attended Makin Memorial UM Church in Winfield and was a member of Corinth Christian Church in Foley. Jim will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mary Isabel Crenshaw; one sister, Linda Sue Carson and her husband, Johnny Carson; and his brothers-in-law, Terry D. Collins and Lindell Collins. Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Charlotte Crenshaw of Winfield; their daughters: Diana Berrey and her husband, Kevin, of Winfield, Debra Tiller and her husband, Ron, of Winfield, Mona Dixon and her significant other, Kenny Penrod, of Winfield, Christina East and her husband, Jason, of Old Monroe, MO and Jamie Foley and her husband, Dan, of Foley; nine grandchildren: Michael, Morgan, Jessica, Ryan, Melana, Austin, Sophia, Emma and Adalyn; and nine great-grandchildren. Jim also leaves one sister, Glenda Keeteman and her husband, Randy, of Winfield; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
