Obituary of Emma Elizabeth Teasley

Funeral Services for Emma Elizabeth “Betty” Teasley of Silex, MO will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Elsberry United Methodist Church in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Laura Taylor, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Old Alexandria Cemetery near Troy, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Carver, Shane Dunlap, Tony Spires, Tory Teasley, Trent Teasley, Kaden Teasley and Payton Teasley. Betty, 86, passed away Tuesday evening, September 24, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy. Born November 2, 1937 in Elsberry, she was the daughter of George and Nola B. Watts-Strus. Betty was united in marriage on January 29, 1955 in Elsberry to Franklin R. “Frankie” Teasley. This union was blessed with four children: Joni Lynn, Brent Franklin, Gregory Gerald and Benjamin Joseph. Betty was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining and loved spending time with her family. Betty joined the Elsberry United Methodist Church when she was 12 years old and continued her membership throughout her life. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nola Strus; one son, Greg Teasley; and one grandson, Tyler Teasley; one brother, Marlow Strus; and her brothers-in-law: Reginald Carver, Bill Dunlap and Dale Spires. Survivors include her beloved husband of 69 years, Frankie Teasley of Silex, MO; three children: Joni Gallup and her husband, Rick, of High Ridge, MO, Brent Teasley and his wife, Mary, of Silex and Bennie Teasley and his wife, Tonya, of Bowling Green, MO; four grandchildren: Tory Cole Teasley and his wife, Jessica, of Silex, Trent Gregory Teasley and his wife, Emily, of Troy, MO, Teagan Lee Teasley of St. Louis, MO and Payton Benjamin Teasley and his wife, Paige, of Bowling Green; and five great-grandchildren: Marley, Kaden, Lincoln, Margaret and Lane. Betty also leaves one sister, Patricia Carver of Columbia, IL; two sisters-in-law: Gloria Dunlap and Janice Spires, both of Troy; her special friends: Joyce Ross, Barbara Peasel, Missy Seeger and Cindy Cappel; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the Elsberry United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Elsberry United Methodist Church in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
