Obituary of Joseph Nicholas Kinion

Funeral Services for Joseph Nicholas “Nick” Kinion of St. Clair, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Homes will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tyler Luker, Buddy Luker, Lowell Trace Cooley, Josh Schuler, Charlie Ochsenbine, Adam Ochsenbine and Willie Ochsenbine. Mr. Kinion, 76, passed away Friday evening, August 30, 2024 at his home in St. Clair. Born October 3, 1947 in St. Charles, MO, he was son of Marion Franklin “Frank” and Bernice Virginia Bernard Kinion. Nick was united in marriage on February 3, 1997 in Branson, MO to Loretta Lynn Perkins. Nick owned and operated Mid-Rivers Towing Service in O’Fallon, MO for many years before he retired and moved to St. Clair, MO. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bernice Kinion; and two brothers: Robert Kinion and George Kinion; three grandchildren: D.J. Cooley, Cindy Williamson and Devon Cooley; and his beloved wife of 21 years, Loretta Kinion, who died February 25, 2018. Survivors include two daughters: Lorreta Cooley of St. Clair, and Lisa Ochsenbine and her husband, Dennis, also of St. Clair; seven grandchildren: Buddy Luker, Tyler Luker, Lowell “Trace” Cooley, Josh Schuler, Charlie Ochsenbine, Adam Ochsenbine and Willie Ochsenbing; and 13 great-grandchildren. Nick also leaves three brothers: Frank “Oscar” Kinion and his wife, Mary, of Hollywood, MD, Johnny Kinion and his wife, Jean, of The Villages, FL, and Tommy Kinion and his wife, Dina, of Elsberry; two sisters: Barb Haywood of Warrenton, MO, and Mary Mackey and her husband, Arlyn, of Elsberry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
