Obituary of B. Louise Dameron
Funeral Services for B. Louise Dameron of Elsberry, MO will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Laura Taylor, pastor of Elsberry United Methodist Church will officiate with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Dameron, Dawson Dameron, Todd Boedeker, Brad Boedeker, John Boedeker, Rick Boaz and Ronnie Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers will be Emily Dameron, Wendi Jo Dameron, Alyssa Dameron, Jude Dameron, Dominic Dameron and Scarlett Dameron.
Louise, 93, was born January 17, 1931 in Eolia, MO, the daughter of William Austin and Thelma Belle Sidwell Harding. She was a 1948 graduate of Elsberry High School. Louise was united in marriage on December 23, 1950 in Elsberry to George Dawson “Daws” Dameron. This union was blessed with five children: Keith, Gilbert, Denise, Thelma and Owen. Louise had numerous jobs over the years including: Lamont Glove Factory, Forrest Keeling Nursery, assisting with election poles, assisting the City of Elsberry with Elsberry City Cemetery information, and most of all a loving homemaker.
Louise had a passion for Elsberry History and was known as Elsberry’s Historian. She operated the Merry-go-round at the Lincoln County Old Threshers for many years and was known to collect money for Oak Ridge Cemetery. Louise was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, member of the former DOM Club and Senior Citizens Center. Louise loved to crotchet and play BINGO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Harding; her older siblings: Andrew Harding, Florence Roberts, Errett Harding and Billy Harding; one granddaughter, Jan Dameron; one daughter-in-law, Robin Dameron; and her beloved husband, George “Daws” Dameron, who died on May 5, 2004.
Survivors include her children: Keith Dameron, Gil Dameron, Denise Boaz and her husband, Rick, Thelma Boedeker and her husband, John, and Owen Dameron and his wife, April, all of Elsberry; ten grandchildren: Emily, Wendi Jo and her significant other, Brian Koshinski, Christopher and his wife, Danielle, Todd and his wife, Kayleigh, Brad and his fiancé, Megan, Dawson and his fiancé, Anna, Alyssa, Jude, Dominic and Scarlett; and four great-grandchildren: Colbi, Levi, Carter and Cooper. Louise also leaves her brother-in-law, Norman “Jack” Dameron of Bowling Green, MO; her lifelong friend, Leanna Bueneman of Elsberry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Oak Ridge Cemetery in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
