Obituary of Loretta Fay Anderson

Funeral Services for Loretta Fay Anderson of St. Louis, MO will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Elsberry First Baptist Church in Elsberry, MO. Pastor Paul Goss of Olney, IL, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Szombathy, Matt Bauer, Alec Willard, Riley Anderson, Sammy Dominguez and Dillon Taylor. Loretta, 66, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 11, 2024 at SSM St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis. Born, September 9, 1957 in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Henry and Sada Conway Anderson. Loretta was a 1975 graduate of Riverview High School. She was a loving homemaker. While living in Elsberry, Loretta attended Elsberry First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sada Anderson; one brother, Lindell Anderson; one sister, Elaine Jones and her husband, Bob; and her son, Jonathan Szombathy, who died on July 26, 2021. Survivors include one son, Joshua Szombathy and his wife, Tammy, of St. Louis; one daughter, Jessica Lea Mills of St. Charles, MO; five grandchildren: Erica Szombathy, Haley Dominguez, Alexis Szombathy, Dillon Taylor and Brionna Taylor; and three great-grandchildren: Waylon, Sage and Omari. Loretta also leaves one brother, Joseph Anderson and his wife, Karen, of Jacksonville, FL; five sisters: Kathrine Biagi and her husband, Dante, of Foristell, MO, Judy Wagner and her husband, Jerry, of Elsberry, Debra Allen and her husband, Ross, of Old Monroe, MO, Robin Goss and her husband, Paul, of Olney, IL and Veneta Bauer and her husband, Jim, of Wentzville, MO; one sister-in-law, Donna Anderson of Foristell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Elsberry First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Family of Loretta Anderson in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
