Obituary of Terry Green

Funeral Services for Mitchell Terrance “Terry” Green of St. Paul, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Laura Taylor, pastor of the Elsberry United Methodist Church, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery near Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers will be Pat Martin, Dane Tapley, Billy Wade Owens, Brian Ray, Joe Siegler, Stan Boyd, David Hatcher and Tim Morrissey; and honorary pallbearers: Joe Morrissey, Ken Winchester and Frank VanDevins. Terry, 63, passed away early Friday morning, March 15, 2024 at his home near St. Paul, MO. Born July 1, 1960 in Troy, MO, he was the son of Martin Austin ”Marty” and Muriel Paap Green. Terry was a 1978 graduate of Elsberry High School. He was employed for many years as a manufacturing manager at Specialty Plastics in St. Peters, MO, retiring in April, 2009. Terry was a longtime member of the Elsberry United Methodist Church. He was an independent motorcycle rider, enjoying many hours on the road; was a lover of music and wildlife; loved to make people laugh; and treasured time spent with his family and friends. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Marty Green in 2018; infant twin siblings: Mardee Jo and Michael Lee Green in 1959; his grandparents and many beloved aunts and uncles. Survivors include his step-daughter, Carol Martin and her husband, Pat, of O’Fallon, MO; and their children, Victoria and Olivia. Terry also leaves his beloved mother, Muriel Green of St. Paul; one brother, Bob Green and his wife, Judy, of Elsberry; one sister, Lissa Morrissey of St. Paul; three nieces and nephews: Jenna Leigh Morrissey Kottmann and her husband, Scott, Joseph Martin Morrissey, and Renee Hatcher and husband, David; great-nieces and nephews: Waylon and Adalyn Kottmann, and Christopher and Kayla Hatcher; his aunt and uncle: Cookie and Billy Ray of Elsberry; several cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
