Obituary of Jon Owen Martin

Jon Owen Martin Funeral Services for Jon Owen Martin of Winfield, MO will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Pastor Fielding Poe, pastor of Winfield First Baptist Church will officiate. Jon, 29, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at his home near Winfield. Born August 21, 1994 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Richard D. and Peggy Sue Peasel Martin. A lifelong resident of the Winfield community, Jon was a graduate of Troy High School. He was employed as a laborer for Martin Brothers Cabinetry near Winfield. Jon was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Sue Peasel Weihmeyer; and his maternal grandparents: Melvin Joseph and Rita Louise Mueth Peasel. Survivors include his father, Richard Martin of Winfield; and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Carol Martin, also of Winfield. Jon also leaves one brother, Paul Joseph “P.J.” Martin of Troy, MO; one sister, LeeAnne Martin of Winfield; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is also survived by his faithful four-legged companion “Pudge”. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of the Service at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
