Obituary of Jeffrey Johnson Lindsey

Funeral Services for Jeffrey Johnson Lindsey of Oxford, MI, formerly of Winfield, MO, will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Pastor Fielding Poe, pastor of First Baptist Church Winfield will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Jeffrey, 80, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his home. Born October 22, 1943 in Racine, WI, he was the son of Floyd Henry Lindsey, Jr. and Betty Jacobs Lindsey. Jeffrey served an honorable career in the United States Navy from June 12, 1961 until his discharge on May 31, 1983. Jeffrey was united in marriage on December 28, 1974 in San Diego, CA to Sherry Lou Paine. This union was blessed with one son, Steven. Jeffrey was employed as a Prison Guard for the State of Michigan before retiring after 17 years of service. He was a member of VFW Posts in both Missouri and Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Lindsey, Jr. and Betty Lindsey; one sister, Anita Wilding; one brother, David Allen Lindsey, Sr.; and his beloved wife of 33 years, Sherry Lindsey, who died on March 8, 2008. Survivors include his son, Steven Lindsey and his wife, Brandy, of Oxford; and one grandson, Grant. Jeffrey also leaves one brother, Warren Lindsey and his wife, Mary, of Pleasant Hill, MO; one sister, Tina Lindsey and her significant other, John, of Columbia, MO; one brother-in-law, Kevin Wilding of O’Fallon, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
