Obituary of Trent William Henry Busch

Trent William Henry Busch, 18, was born on October 29, 2005 to Jamey and Tanika Busch of Winfield, Missouri. He passed away at the Ted Shanks Conservation Area doing what he loved. Trent was a Senior at Winfield High School, planning to graduate in May. During his time at Winfield and Immaculate Conception it was clear that Trent attended school for the social aspect, not for the academic rigor. Trent spent his entire life as an athlete, he was a talented goalie for Winfield and Immaculate Conception schools. He also played on the baseball and football teams during his time at Winfield. Trent attended Pike Lincoln Technical Center in the afternoons for welding training. Trent loved his job at Brooks Brothers Trailers where he was a welder. His hand, yes one hand, was not only adept at crafting metal, but also building connections with those around him. Trent was looking forward to graduating and attending AWA Welding Academy to pursue welding as a trade that he enjoyed tremendously and was quite talented at. Trent had an infectious love for life, family, friends and fun and approached every day with boundless energy that most of us couldn’t keep up with. His spirit was defined by his faith, zest for adventure and resilience in what he has overcome. Trent had an unwavering love for the outdoors, he spent every moment possible bow fishing, waterfowl hunting and riding his ATV with family and friends. Trent was preceded in death by his dear cousin, Aubrey Dunn; and his great grandparents, Johnnie and Helen Busch. Survivors include his parents, Jamey and Tanika Busch; a beloved brother, Jake Busch of Winfield; his grandparents, Rick and Joni Dunn of Troy and Arlene and David Sixkiller of Moscow Mills; his aunts, Jessica Dunn and Mandy Sixkiller; his uncle, Ethan (LeeAnne) Dunn; his adored cousins, Kiersten (Brandon) Gillman, Hunter Dunn, Conner, Cole, Camille, Morgan and Macey Dunn, Caleb Sixkiller, other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 9:00pm Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Winfield Primary School Gymnasium in Winfield. Funeral Mass for Trent will be held at 10:00am Saturday, December 16 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Old Monroe. Fr. Richard Rath and Deacon Neal Westhoff will officiate. Inurnment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to NubAbility Outdoors/Athletics, an organization that supported Trent after the loss of his hand and helped him to find his enthusiasm again for hunting and welding. Memorials for the family may be made in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
