Obituary of Joyce Mae Fritz

Funeral Services for Joyce Mae Fritz of Winfield, MO will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of the First Christian Church in Elsberry, MO will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Joe Fritz, Brian Fritz, Aaron DeMois, Zach Lambros, Bob Conrad and Ron Williams. Joyce, 85, passed away Sunday morning, July 30, 2023 at her home. Born June 29, 1938 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Alex and Grace Hartong Konopka. Joyce was united in marriage on August 12, 1960 in St. John, MO to Arnold Lewis Fritz. This union was blessed with two sons: Michael and Steven. Joyce worked as an elementary teacher for the Fort Zumwalt School District, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Joyce and Arnold were longtime members of the St. Charles Area Woodcarvers and Mid America Woodcarvers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Grace Konopka; two brothers: George Lambros and Bill Lambros; and her beloved husband of 44 years, Arnold Fritz, who died on February 4, 2005. Survivors include two sons: Mike Fritz and his wife, Michele, of Elkland, MO and Steve Fritz and his wife, Sue, of Winfield; five grandchildren: Joe, Brian, Anthony, Allen and Aaron; and four great-grandchildren. Joyce also leaves her in-laws: John Fritz and his wife, Carol, of Wentzville, MO, Hubert Fritz and his wife, Penny, of Perryville, MO, Eva Lipe of Perryville and Lorraine Woollard of Florissant, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
