Obituary of Marilynne Earlene Hedge

Marilynne “aka Mike” Earlene Hedge, 78, of Winfield, MO passed away Tuesday evening, July 18, 2023 at her home with her daughter present. She was born March 26, 1945 in Oregon, the daughter of Frederick and Lenabella Forbes Lenz. Marilynne served her country in the United States Army, where she met and married her soul mate James Albert Hedge on December 1, 1965 in Monterey, CA. This union was blessed with one truly thankful daughter, Melissa. She was a member of VFW Post #5517 in Winfield. Marilynne loved to read, cook, and had an impressive array of cookbooks. She also loved to laugh, and had a wonderful sense of humor, which she shared often with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Lenabella Forbes; one brother, Russell Lenz; one sister, Rosella Shafer; and her beloved husband of 56 years, James Hedge, who died on January 25, 2022. Survivors include her daughter, Melissa Schneider and her husband, Jim, of St. Peters; one brother, Thelbert Lenz; one sister, Deanna Febus; other relatives and friends. There are no services scheduled but the family asks you to raise a glass to Jim and Marilynne for a life well lived filled with laughter and love. Marilynne was a 20+ year breast cancer survivor and fought a long-hard lung cancer battle. She never gave up!
