Obituary of Karen Darlene Hoelting

Funeral Services for Karen Darlene Hoetling of Foley, MO will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Mark Payne, pastor of Calvary Chapel in Winfield will officiate. Inurnment will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery near Old Monroe, MO at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Deacon Neal Westhoff will officiate. Karen, 65, passed away Tuesday morning, July 18, 2023 at her home. Born January 14, 1958 in Georgetown, OH, she was the daughter of Clarence John and Elizabeth Irene Boone Petry. Karen was a 1976 graduate of Winfield High School. She was united in marriage on October 22, 1978 in Winfield to Percy Franklin Hoelting. This union was blessed with two children: Elijah and Jillian. Karen worked as a manager for Schnucks from October 6, 1980 until her retirement on January 3, 2020. She was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Petry; and her beloved husband of 4 years, Percy Hoelting, who died on February 12, 1983. Survivors include three children: Elijah Hoelting and his wife, Kari, of Foley, Jillian Dunn and her husband, Kyle, of Wentzville, MO and Kimberly DeQuiros of Silex, MO; and four grandchildren: Percy Franklin Hoelting, Silas Dunn and Mason and Grady Shipley. Karen also leaves her father, Clarence Petry of Winfield; one brother, David Petry of Winfield; two sisters: Cynthia Petry of Carlyle, IL and Paula Hemmer and her husband, Tony, of Winfield; her adopted family: Robert and Brandy Brawley and Destiny and Lilley King; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
