Obituary of Mary Jeanne Hieger

A Funeral Mass for Mary Jeanne Hieger of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Clarksville, MO. Fr. Henry Ussher, church pastor, and Deacon Mark Dobelmann will officiate. Mary Hieger, 78, passed away Saturday morning, July 15, 2023, at her home. Born August 7, 1944 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Royce and Sophie Overy. Mary was united in marriage on February 12, 1966 in St. Louis to George Raymond Hieger. This union was blessed with two children: Christine and David. Mary worked for the Federal Government doing defense mapping. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Clarksville. She was preceded in death by her parents: Royce Overy and Sophie Humphreys; and her brother, Royce Overy. Survivors include her beloved husband of 57 years, George Hieger of Elsberry; their children: Christine Doeren and her husband, Christopher, of Elsberry and David Hieger and his wife, Lyndsay, of O’Fallon, MO; three grandchildren: Seth, Timothy and Adler; one nephew, Jack Overy and his wife, Michelle, of Indianapolis, IN and their children: Madelyn and Nicholas; other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
