Obituary of Charles Mueller

A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Mueller of Troy, MO, formerly of Moscow Mills, MO, will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Father Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Childs, Ryan Childs, Michael Mueller, Duane Mueller, Brandon Mueller and Jaren Mueller. Mr. Mueller, 100, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 8, 2023 at the Elsberry Healthcare Center near Elsberry, MO. Born April 13, 1923 in St. Paul, MO, he was the son of Raymond and Margaret Heembrock Mueller. Charles was raised in the Old Monroe area and attended Immaculate Conception School. Charles was united in marriage on August 28, 1945 in Old Monroe to Evelyn Reckamp. This union was blessed with five children: Dennis, Patricia, Richard, Charlotte and Gary. Although farming was his main occupation throughout his life, Charles also worked for Allen & Nordwald Auction Co. in Troy, and Wheeler Auction Co. in Paris, MO. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Old Monroe. After 25 years of marriage, Charles’ wife, Evelyn passed away January 18, 1971. He was married again on July 14, 1973 to Mildred Daischer. They made their home in the Ethlyn community near Moscow Mills, MO. He was a member of the Moscow Mills Lions Club and received the Melvin Jones Award from the Lions Club. He was also a member of the Lincoln County Old Threshers Association. Charles loved to sing and enjoyed Karaoke at Chain of Rocks Bar & Grill. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Margaret Mueller; his first wife, Evelyn Mueller in 1971; and his wife of 42 years, Mildred Mueller who died July 21, 2015; two brothers: Raymond Mueller and his wife, Lois, and Francis Mueller; and one daughter-in-law, Dannette (Mrs. Gary) Mueller. Survivors include his five children: Dennis Mueller and his wife, Brenda, of Bethalto, IL, Patricia Childs and her husband, Eugene, of Troy, MO, Richard Mueller and his wife, Sharon, Charlotte Mueller and Gary Mueller, all of Old Monroe, MO; thirteen grandchildren: Christy Childs, Mark Childs (Lindsey), Karla Childs, Ryan (Darla) Childs, Duane (Sara) Mueller, Lynn (Ryan) Woolfolk, Beth (Ben) Meyer, Kathy (Landon) Welch, Mike Mueller, Katie Mueller, Chanel Green, Keya (Rich) Harris and Brandon (Mandy) Mueller; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Charles also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
