Obituary of Zachary Thomas Evans

Funeral Services for Zachary Thomas “Zach” Evans of Moscow Mills, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Scott McMees, pastor of the Redemption Assembly of God Church in Wentzville, MO, will officiate with burial in the New Salem Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Harley Norton, Clay Walkinhorse, Kyle Eisenbath, Caleb Eisenbath, Darren Boschert and Alex Wallace. Mr. Evans, 29, passed away Friday night, June 2, 2023 the result of a vehicle accident on Highway B in Elsberry, MO. Born April 11, 1994 in Troy, MO, he was the son of Rodger Dean and Becky Jo Mittelsdorf Evans. Zach was a graduate of Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO. He was united in marriage on June 13, 2020 in Wentzville, MO to Briana Nichole Counts. Their home was blessed with three sons, Mason, Brayden and Isaac. He worked in siding and guttering, employed by Owens Contracting in Troy. Zach enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ted Evans; and his maternal grandfather, John Mittelsdorf. Survivors include his beloved wife, Briana Evans of Moscow Mills; three sons: Mason, Brayden and Isaac Evans of the home in Moscow Mills; his father, Rodger Evans and his wife, Jody, of Winfield; his mother, Becky Snapp and her husband, Justin, of Sedalia; his paternal grandmother, Susie Evans of Winfield; and his maternal grandmother, Marcia Mittelsdorf of Troy. Zach also leaves one sister, Samantha Evans Beard and her partner, Cristina Beard, of Troy; his step-siblings: Darren Boschert of Elsberry, April Snapp of Texas, Jeremy (Ashlea) Snapp of Hughesville, MO, Jolee Snapp of Sedalia and Kendall Snapp of Sedalia; his mother-in-law, Amy Vintson of Bowling Green, MO; one brother-in-law, Kaden Vintson of Bowling Green; his grandmother-in-law, Josephine Warner of Troy; his grandfather-in-law, Ellis Counts of Winfield; his aunts: Tina Williams of Foley, Frances Houston of Winfield and Melissa Hart of St. Charles; several cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
