Obituary of Hazel Loree Wheadon

Hazel Loree Wheadon Funeral services for Hazel Loree Wheadon of Wentzville, MO (formerly of Elsberry, MO), were held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home officiated with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry. Serving as pallbearers were Eugene Anderson, Niles Leverington, Ralph Presley, Ralph Knox, Donnie Kinsler and Dean Kinsler. Mrs. Wheadon, 84, died early Thursday evening, April 26, 2007 at Parklane Care and Rehabilitation Center, Inc. in Wentzville, MO. Born June 12, 1922 in Olney, MO, she was the daughter of James Madison and Elsie Mae Dillon Anderson. She was united in marriage on January 14, 1934 to Lawrence Harvey Preston. This union was blessed with two sons: Marvin Harvey and Donald James. Lawrence preceded her in death November 27, 1967. She was married again on August 29, 1975 in Branson, MO to Earl S. Wheadon, Sr. She was a member of Mount Zion ARP Presbyterian Church near Troy, MO. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elsie Anderson; her first husband, Lawerence Harvey Preston; two sons: Marvin Preston, who died December 7, 1965, and Donald Preston, who died January 19, 2002; and her beloved husband of 12 years, Earl S. Wheadon, Sr., who died November 27, 1987. Survivors include nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; cousins; other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service, Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
