Obituary of William Carl Sutton, Sr.

Visitation for William Carl Sutton, Sr., 70, of Foley, MO will be Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Full Military Honors will be at 5:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Wentzville American Legion Post #323 in Wentzville, MO. Bill passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy, MO. Born December 19, 1952 in Licking, MO, he was the son of Carl and Fern Hamby Sutton. Bill served his country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage on October 30, 1972 in O’Fallon, MO to Linda Kay Mouser. This union was blessed with one son, William Carl Sutton, Jr. Bill worked as a carpenter for McKelvey Homes. He was a member of St. Louis Carpenters Local #32 in Wentzville and American Legion Post #323, also of Wentzville. Bill enjoyed Hunting. He also loved racing the 1957 Chevy with his nephew, Jesse Thomas Sutton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Fern Sutton; one brother, Dennis Sutton; and one sister, Cindy Amptmann. Survivors include his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Linda Sutton of Foley; and their son, William Sutton, Jr., of Winfield. Bill also leaves one brother, Chris Sutton and his wife, Jessica, of Warrenton, MO; one sister, Eddie Sutton of Warrenton, MO; his brother-in-law, Jeff Amptmann of Moscow Mills, MO; and nephews: Eric and Anthony Amptmann; Marty McMillan and his wife, Janice, of Steeleville, MO, and Casey McMillan.
