Obituary of Dean Knight

Graveside Services for Robert Dean Knight of Elsberry, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2023 at Asbury Cemetery near Foley, MO. Rev. Randall Lee, pastor of the Lighthouse Church of Troy, will officiate. Mr. Knight, 72, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. Born April 11, 1951 in Alton, IL, he was the son of Curtis Columbus and Mary Huntis Pace Knight. Raised in Alton, Dean was a 1969 graduate of Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, IL. He was united in marriage on June 16, 1973 at the ARPresbyterian Church in Elsberry to Vickie Louise Phelps. This union was blessed with three children: Kacie, Tim and Kevin. He worked for many years as a customer service representative for Ozark Airlines, TWA and American Airlines, retiring in 2011. After he retired, he drove part-time for O’Reilly Auto Parts for several years. Dean was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan. He was a member of Lighthouse Church of Troy. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Mary Knight; one brother, Samuel Knight; four sisters: Mary Lou Knight, Lois Knight, Diane Robinson and Jeanie Knight; and one son, Kevin Curtis Knight. Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Vickie Knight of Elsberry; one son, Tim Knight of Shelby, MT; one daughter, Kacie Stephens and her husband, Travis, of Troy, MO; and four grandchildren: Logan Stephens and his wife, Catie, Emily Knight, Kayleigh Stephens and Elijah Knight. Dean also leaves one brother, James Knight of Bay City, MI; one sister, Cheryl Graziana of Godfrey, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Dean's family feel he would be delighted if everyone showed their Cardinal spirit by wearing red for his graveside service.
