Obituary of Barbara Ann Burks

Barbara Ann Burks Funeral services for Barbara Ann Burks of Winfield, MO were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Rev. Mike Ryan, pastor of the Winfield Baptist Church, officiated with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers were Ken Lowe, Mike Lowe, Wade Lowe, Spencer Lowe, Steve Burks and Kenneth Lowe. Mrs. Burks, 58, died Thursday evening, May 3, 2007 at her home in Winfield. Born May 10, 1948 in New Madrid, MO, she was the daughter of Ruby Ellen Lindsey. She was a 1966 graduate of New Madrid High School in New Madrid, MO. She was united in marriage on June 15, 1968 in New Madrid, MO to Bobby Gene Burks. This union was blessed with three children: Stephen Daniel, Michael Gene and Jill Diane. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Lindsay. Survivors include her beloved husband of almost 39 years, Bobby Burks of Winfield; two sons: Stephen Burks and his wife, Cathy, of Troy, MO, and Michael Burks and his wife, Erin, of Troy, MO; one daughter, Jill Burks of Old Monroe, MO; and seven grandchildren: Alyssa, Jeffery, Quinton, Cooper, McKenzie, Ethan and Cash. She also leaves one brother, Jimmy Lindsey of St. Louis, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Visitation was held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
