Obituary of Sharon Elaine Smith

Funeral Services for Sharon Elaine Smith of Jonesburg, MO will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Scott Groshong, pastor of Corinth Christian Church near Foley, MO, will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Elsberry. Mrs. Smith, 67, passed away Sunday night, February 5, 2023 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis, MO. Born October 3, 1955 in Parisburg, VA, she was the daughter of Arthur Lee and Ruth Songer Ratcliff. Sharon was united in marriage on December 1, 1981 in Troy to Elvin “Smity” Smith. Sharon worked as a propagator for Jan’s Plants in O’Fallon, MO. She was a member of Corinth Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ruth Ratcliff; and her beloved husband, Elvis “Smity” Smith, who died on May 10, 2005. Survivors include three sisters: Carolyn Davis of Wentzville, MO, Bonnie Sliger of Winfield and Donna Akers and her husband, Dennis, of Roanoke, VA; one brother, Leslie “Buddy” Ratcliff of Winfield; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield.
