Obituary of Frank Edwin Davis
Frank E. Davis
Funeral services for Frank Edwin Davis of Elsberry, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Richard Pillers, pastor of the Elsberry Assembly of God Church will officiate. Mr. Davis' remains will be transported to Eddyville, IA where visitation will take place Friday evening, March 30, 2007 at Eddyville Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 31, 2007 with burial in Bluff Creek Cemetery in Eddyville.
Mr. Davis, 61, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at the Lincoln County Medical Center in Troy, MO. Born May 7, 1945 in Ottumwa, IA, he was the son of Ernest Frank and Wanda Irene Tallman Davis. He was a 1963 graduate of Eddyville High School. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy from November 30, 1963 until he was honorably discharged November 29, 1967. After his service in the Navy, he worked for many years as an over-the-road trucker, and was most recently employed by Woody-Bogler Trucking of Gerald, MO.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #226 in Elsberry; the VFW in Pike County, MO; and the Moose Lodge in Silex, MO.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Irene Davis; and a granddaughter, Alexis Davis.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Joyce L. Davis of Elsberry; and her children: Rick (Angie) Bollinger of Kimmswick, MO, Christina (Mike) Finney of Paris, MO and Roger (Heather) Bollinger of Wildwood, MO, Rick (Angie) Bollinger of Kimmswick, MO, and Christina (Mike) Finney of Paris, MO. He also leaves behind a former wife, Loretta (Bob) Rouze of Beacon, IA; and children: Daniel (Lindsay) Davis of Silex, Carrie (Kevin) Barnard of Oskaloosa, IA, Maggie Davis of Tipton, IA, Rhonda (Steve) Phillips of Williamsburg, IA, Nancy Hershey of Beacon, IA, Robin Boger of Eddyville, IA, Dorothy (Shawn) Garrison of Beacon, IA, Doug (Sara) Sellars of DesMoines, IA, and Wayne (Lucy) Davis of Fremont, IA. He also leaves his father, Ernest Davis of Eddyville, IA; his mother-in-law, Edith M. Skiles of Salem, MO; five brothers: Gene Davis of Eddyville, IA, Jim (Sharon) Davis of Eddyville, Paul (Marty) Davis of Hedrick, IA, Roger Davis of Cedar, IA and Andrew Davis of Oskaloosa, IA; two sisters: Peggy (John) Johnson of Eddyville, and Pat Kent of Davenport, IA; three brothers-in-law: Gary (Susan) Skiles of Ottawa, KS, Dennis (Rita) Skiles of Salem, MO and Darrell (Marianne) Skiles, also of Salem; one sister-in-law, Sherri Skiles of Salem, MO; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until time of the service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Memorials may be made to the Frank E. Davis Family in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 South Fifth Street, Elsberry, MO 63343.
