Obituary of Nola Mae Allen

Memorial Services for Nola Mae Allen of Elsberry, MO will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. John Zellmer, pastor of New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry, will officiate. Mrs. Allen, 89, passed away Thursday morning, May 29, 2014 at her home. Born August 11, 1924 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Nola Ingrassia. She was united in marriage on October 30, 1948 in St. Louis, MO to James Elmo Allen, Sr. This union was blessed with three children: James, Michael and Beverly. She was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nola Ingrassia; one brother, William Ingrassia; one son, James Elmo Allen, Jr.; and her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, James Elmo Allen, Sr. who died April 16, 2008. Survivors include two children: Michael Lee Allen and Beverly Kay Bommarito, both of Elsberry; six grandchildren: Jennifer Lara, Joseph Bommarito, Toree Allen, Melisa Learned, Brandi Ward and Christina Williams; and four great-grandchildren: Devin, Cameron, Brandon and Lilyn. She also leaves other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
