Obituary of Charles Allen McDaniel, Jr.

Funeral Services for Charles Allen McDaniel, Jr. of Foley, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Scott Groshong, pastor of Corinth Christian Church near Foley, will officiate with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Foley. Serving as pallbearers will be Jessica Zahner, Robert Burdess, Matthew Burdess, Marty Miller, Tom McDaniel and Kristen Prater. Mr. McDaniel, Jr., 94, passed away Saturday night, February 4, 2023 at his home. Born April 21, 1928 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Charles Allen and Freida Kiefer McDaniel, Sr. Charles was a graduate of Normandy High School in St. Louis. He was united in marriage on April 27, 1958 in Hernando, MS to Doris Louise Smith. This union was blessed with seven children: Rick, Tim, Chuck, Terry, Kevin, Keith, and Lisa. Charles worked as an Expeditor for McDonnell Douglas, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Lincoln County Lodge #682 AF & AM in Winfield, Scottish Rite Valley of St. Louis, Aerospace Local Lodge #837 in Hazelwood, MO, and was also a member of Corinth Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Freida McDaniel, Sr.; his beloved wife of nearly 43 years, Doris McDaniel, who died on February 25, 2001; one son: Timothy McDaniel and one daughter-in-law, Angie McDaniel; two brothers-in-law, Jim and Gary Smith; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Smith; and one sister, Grace Drew. Survivors include six children: Rick McDaniel of Winfield, Charles Allen McDaniel and his wife, Lori, of Palm Dale, CA, Terry Donnelly of St. Clair, MO, Kevin McDaniel of St. Peters, MO, Keith McDaniel of Winfield and Lisa Burdess and her husband, Greg, of Moscow Mills, MO; many grandchildren and several great- grandchildren. Charles also leaves his nephew, Bill Drew of Winfield; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home.
