Forrest Eugene Robinson, Sr. of Troy, MO (formerly of Foley) were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Rev. Sammy Lorton of Whiteside Holiness Church in Whiteside, MO, Rev. Tim Gordon of Bible Holiness Church in Elsberry, MO and Rev. John Hamilton of Independence, KS officiated with burial in Bethany Cemetery near Foley. Serving as pallbearers Brad Robinson, John Wayne Hamilton, Shane Robinson, Justin Robinson, Robert Hamilton, Dwayne Robinson, Dusty Robinson, Nathan Detmer and Buz Mendonsa. Rev. Robinson, 89, died Wednesday morning, March 7, 2007 at his home near Troy, MO. Born December 26, 1917 in Foley, MO, he was the son of John William and Virginia Almeda Calloway Robinson. He was united in marriage on April 10, 1937 in Bowling Green, MO to Helena Augusta Vaughn. This union was blessed with four children: Norma Jean, Forrest Eugene, Jr., Don Robert and Sherry Lee. He was saved in 1945, later sanctified and began his ministry in 1948. He served churches in the following towns in Missouri: Foley, Eolia, Elsberry, Ritchey, Redwood (Sarcoxie), Jonesburg and Whiteside; and the following towns in Kansas: Altoona and Cherryvale. Rev. Robinson was pastor for many years at the Foley Holiness Church in Foley, MO, and for 18 years served the Bible Holiness Church in Elsberry, MO, retiring in 2001. After 50 years of marriage, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helena, on January 15, 1988. He was married again on July 21, 1988 in Silex, MO to Mary Velma Mills. Rev. Robinson was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in Elsberry. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and North American Hunters. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Robinson; one daughter-in-law, Norma Faye Robinson; one grandson, Forrest E. Robinson, III, who passed away in 2001; and one brother, Marion Robinson. Survivors include his beloved wife of 18 years, Mary Velma Robinson of Troy; two sons: Forrest Eugene Robinson, Jr. of Joplin, MO, and Don Robert Robinson and his wife, Mary, of Osage Beach, MO; two daughters: Norma Jean Hamilton and her husband, John, of Independence, KS, and Sherry Lee Robinson of Eolia, MO; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 6 great, great-grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Virginia Darlene Femmer of Eolia, MO; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends. Visitation was held was held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2007 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO.
