Obituary of Benjamin Andrew Pruitt

Mr. Benjamin Andrew “B.A.” Pruitt, 68, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 1, 2023, at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy, MO. Born January 16, 1954 in Tulare, CA, he was the son of Charles and Alfa Faye McFarlin Pruitt. B.A. was a man of many talents. He could do anything with his hands & would help anyone who needed it. He spent most of his life as a bricklayer, retiring in 2019, and continued to do various jobs with family & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alfa Faye Pruitt; and one grandson, Brett Andrew Pruitt. Survivors include his children: Nancy Mahurin and her husband, Bobby, of Elsberry, MO and Shane Pruitt and his wife, Jaimie, of Winfield, MO; and six grandchildren: Ian, Luke and Maison Pruitt and Gracy, Jaide and Brody Mahurin. B.A. also leaves two brothers: Alford Pruitt and his wife, Bertha, of Lebanon, MO and Gary Pruitt and his wife, Debbie, of Cushing, OK; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. At B.A’s request, there are no funeral services. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children-St. Louis in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
