Obituary of Lynn Elvin Myers

Funeral Services for Lynn E. Myers of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Myers, Randy Myers, Lynn Myers, Holli Johnson, Jayson Currie, Jacob Currie, Kacie McAllister and Clayton Harris. Mr. Myers, 86, passed away Wednesday night, December 21, 2022, at Tri County Care Center in Vandalia, MO. Born January 29, 1936 in Cascade, MO, he was the son of Elvin Noah and Wanda Cheek Myers. Lynn was united in marriage on February 11, 1954 in Jefferson City, MO to Violet Ruth Smith. This union was blessed with five children: Ricky, Kathi, Randy, Trudy and Tommy. Lynn was a 50 year member of Operating Engineer Union Local #513. He was the President of the Foley Athletic and Gun Club. Lynn enjoyed the outdoors and would often spend time trapshooting, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Gateway Off-Roaders. For many years, Lynn and Violet enjoyed traveling the country in their RV. He was preceded in death by his parents: Elvin and Wanda Myers; his step-mother, Helen Myers; his wife of 66 years, Violet Myers; one son, Tommy Myers; one brother, Gary Myers; one sister, Betty Jett; and one son-in-law, Jay Currie. Survivors include four children: Ricky Myers of Foley, MO, Kathi Currie of Foley, Randy “Patch” Myers of Warrenton, MO and Trudy Myers of Elsberry; his best dog buddy, Slick; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Lynn also leaves two sisters: Shirley Branson and her husband, Clarence, of Holt Summit, MO and Mary Strope and her husband, Doug, of Jefferson City, MO; one brother, Stanley Myers and his wife, Joyce, of Springfield, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
