Obituary of Ethel May Marie Ann Glimka

A Private Gathering for Ethel May Marie Ann Vialpando Glimka of Old Monroe, MO was held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Mrs. Glimka, 68, passed away Monday morning, December 12, 2022 at Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon, MO. Born November 17, 1954 in San Luis, CO, she was the daughter of Dionisio and Beatrice Vialpando. Ethel was united in marriage on August 7, 1976 in San Luis to Hans Artur Glimka. This union was blessed with three children: Dionisio, Arthur and Jeannifer. Ethel was a compassionate mother and grandmother, loving housewife, and fierce advocate for her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dionisio and Beatrice Vialpando; one sister, Jean Cordova; and one son, Dionisio Glimka on April 26, 2017. Survivors include her beloved husband of 46 years, Hans Glimka of Old Monroe; one son, Arthur Glimka and his wife, Becky, of O’Fallon; one daughter, Jeannifer Brown and her husband, Anthony, of Wentzville, MO; one daughter-in-law, Joy Glimka, of Moscow Mills, MO; and nine grandchildren: Gavin, Madeline and Landon Glimka, Mackenzie Short, Josh Willenberg, Julia Glimka and Justin, Clark and Jacob Brown. Ethel also leaves three brothers: Delmer Vialpando of San Pablo, CO, Marvin Vialpando of San Luis and Kenneth Vialpando, also of San Luis; two sisters: Joanna Mondragon of Omaha, NE and Judy Vigil of Pubelo, CO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
