Obituary of Donnie Lloyd Yates

Funeral Services for Donnie Lloyd Yates of Winfield, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. Bro. Fielding Poe of the First Baptist Church Winfield will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen White, Robert Moll, Doug Yates, Danny Prinster, Dustin Jackson and Chuck Yates. Mr. Yates, 70, passed away Tuesday night, September 13, 2022 at his home. Born June 28, 1952 in St. Louis, MO he was the son of Charles Lindsey and Lucille Mabel Rogers Yates. Donnie was united in marriage on December 3, 1975 in Clayton, MO to Robin Frey. Their home was blessed with four children: Angie, Travis, Luke and Donnie, Jr. Donnie worked as a Commercial Ironworker and was a member of Iron Workers Union Local #396 in St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Yates; one brother, Thomas Yates; three sisters: Betty Willis, Linda Wilcher and Patsy Aubuchon; one great-granddaughter, Kenidi Hecker; one son, Luke (Frey) Yates; and his beloved wife of nearly 37 years, Robin Yates, who died on November 30, 2012. Survivors include two sons: Travis Yates and his wife, Cindy, of Winfield and Donnie Yates, Jr. of Winfield; one daughter, Angie Summerton and her husband, William, of Winfield; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Donnie also leaves one brother, Bill Yates and his wife, Joann, of O’Fallon, MO; two sisters: Delores Bufford and her husband, Greg, Elsberry, MO, and Elaine McAllister and her husband, Jeffrey, of Winfield; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
