Obituary of Maria Alexis Stamper Hanna

Funeral Services for Maria Alexis Stamper Hanna of Fredericktown, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry, MO. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Ladlie, Zach Ladlie, Ryan Ladlie, Tim Reller, Gavin Reller and Josh Burbridge. Ms. Hanna, 63, passed away Thursday afternoon, September 1, 2022, at ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown. Born April 23, 1959 in Troy, MO, she was the daughter of Harry Loren and Wilma Fay Smith Stamper, Sr. Maria was a 1977 graduate of Elsberry High School; and earned a B.S. Degree in Psychology from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and cooking, especially making fudge. Maria was a member of the Elsberry United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Wilma Stamper, Sr.; one brother, Peter Michael Stamper, one half-brother, Milton Stamper; and her brother-in-law, Kenny Burbridge. Survivors include two sons: Jacob Hanna and his wife, Lesleigh, of Jackson, MO, and Nick Hanna and his wife, Rhegan, of Midland, TX; and four grandchildren: Korbyn, Braxton, Hayden and Ryleigh Hanna. Maria also leaves four sisters: Loraine Burbridge of Elsberry, Linda Foss and her husband, Wade, of Redmond, OR, Alice Ladlie and her husband, Dan, of Birmingham, AL, and Victoria Stamper of Wentzville, MO; one half-sister, Jean McCormick of Ballwin, MO; one brother, Harry Stamper and his partner, Jeff Anderson of San Diego, CA; her sister-in-law, Carol Stamper of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
