Obituary of Wilma Lee Uthe

Funeral Services for Wilma Lee Uthe of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield, MO. Burial will be in St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery near Old Monroe. Serving as pallbearers will be Jared Uthe, Lance Uthe, Jim Mense, Herb Mense Jr., Gerald Hackmann and Evan Lakas. Mrs. Uthe, 97, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 31, 2022 at her home. Born February 8, 1925 in Winfield, she was the daughter of Adlia Steavenson and Clara Jonnas Tayon Kimberly. Wilma was united in marriage on June 28, 1941 in Troy, MO to Edwin Gustave Uthe. This union was blessed with four children: Loretta Joyce, Carl Edwin, Ruth Ann and Floyd Lee. Wilma worked as the assembly line foreman for Dove Manufacturing for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. Wilma loved life on the farm, Country music and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adlia and Clara Kimberly; her siblings: Dessie Marie Bryant, Raymond Kimberly, Lillian Ellis, Sarah Dixon, Freda Langston and Richard Kimberly; one son, Carl Uthe, who died on October 13, 2016; one grandson, Larry Mense; and her beloved husband of nearly 37 years, Edwin Uthe, who died on May 30, 1978. Survivors include three children: Loretta Mense of Old Monroe, Ruth Ann Ammann of Wentzville and Floyd Uthe and his wife, Charlotte, of Old Monroe; thirteen grandchildren, including Tammy Lakas, of Moscow Mills, whom they raised; twenty great-grandchildren and twenty-one great, great-grandchildren. Wilma also leaves many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
