Obituary of Virginia Rose Weeks

Visitation for Virginia Rose Weeks of Elsberry, MO will be held from 12:00 noon - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Mrs. Weeks, 81, passed away Tuesday evening, July 5, 2022, at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born March 6, 1941 in Batchtown, IL, she was the daughter of Floyd and Rosie Ellen Triplett Follis. Virginia was a graduate of Hardin High School in Hardin, IL. She was united in marriage on October 7, 1961 in Alton, IL to Robert Eugene Weeks. This union was blessed with three children: Tammy, Terry and Darrell. She was a loving housewife. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Rosie Follis; one son, Darrell Weeks in 2012; one daughter-in-law, Karla Weeks; two sisters: Alice Schaaf and Linda Mortland; and her beloved husband of 39 years, Robert Weeks, who died on December 8, 2000. Survivors include two children: Tammy Weeks of Elsberry and her fiancé, Bob Voorheis of Columbia, MO and Terry Weeks of Elsberry; four grandchildren: Randall Scott Weeks and his wife, Jana, of Arkadelphia, AR, Candy Lynn Weeks of Arkadelphia, Malisa Stagner and her wife, Liz Landes, of Elsberry, and Dawn Renee Weeks of St. Charles, MO; and five great-grandchildren: Grace Weeks, Jayce Sickler and Bryce, Alexander, and Gavin Weeks. Virginia also leaves three sisters: Shirley Smith and her husband, Larry, of Batchtown, Edna Schaaf and her husband, Charlie, of Fiedon, IL and Carol Hutchinson and her husband, Glenn, of Belton, MO; two brothers: Robert “Bob” Follis of Mulberry Grove, IL and Floyd L. Follis and his wife, Chris, of Fieldon, IL; one brother-in-law, Bill Schaaf of Jerseyville, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
