Obituary of Ruth Irene Tannehill

Private Graveside Services for Ruth Irene Tannehill of Troy, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Whispering Winds Cemetery in Winfield, MO. Rev. Garry McCracken, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy, MO, will officiate. Ms. Tannehill, 92, passed away early Thursday morning, June 9, 2022 at Troy Manor in Troy, MO. Born November 28, 1929 in McLeansboro, IL, she was the daughter of Austin and Dorothy (Lambert) Burris. Ruth was employed for many years as a technician at Monsanto, later MEMC in St. Peters, retiring June 1, 1998. She was a volunteer and manager of the Gift Shop at the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital for several years. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rose Marie Kelley; and two half-brothers, Frank Black and John Robert Black. Survivors include three children: Deborah Zwicky and her husband, Daniel, of Troy, Mary Tannehill of Troy, and William Robert Tannehill, Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Troy; four grandchildren: Mark (Heather) Zwicky, Tim (Julie) Zwicky, Katie (Tyler) Muth and Nathan (Cassie) Tannehill; and ten great-grandchildren. Ruth also leaves two half-sisters, Becky Thoms and Linda Chockley; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
