Obituary of Bernadine Georgia Evans

Private Graveside Services for Bernadine Georgia Evans of St. Peters, MO, formerly of Elsberry, MO will be held later this month at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Millwood, MO. Father Charles Tichacek, pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Elsberry, MO, will officiate. Mrs. Evans, 86, passed away Monday evening, June 6, 2022 at the Villages of St. Peters Memory Care in St. Peters, MO. Born May 8, 1936 in Jasper County, IL, she was the second of fifteen children born to Bernard and Esther Michl Hann. She was united in marriage to Thomas Richard Evans on February 13, 1960 in Sikeston, MO. This union was blessed with three children: Theresa, Susan and Larry. Tom and Bernadine co-owned and operated Evans Heating & Cooling in Troy for many years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Esther Hann; two brothers: Norman Hann and Jacques Hann; and her beloved husband of 55 years, Tom Evans who died September 30, 2015. Survivors include two daughters: Theresa Smith and her husband, Matt, of St. Charles, MO, and Susan Lane and her husband, Joe, of St. Louis, MO; one son, Larry Evans and his wife, Melissa, of Lake Ozark, MO; ten grandchildren: Sarah (Ryan) King, Zachary Horton (Maddie O’Laughlin), David (Devon) Turnbull, Kristen Sheets, Katie Sheets, Korey (Courtney) Sheets, Justin (Jooyeon) Evans, Brandon (Jayna) Evans, Blake Evans, Breanna Evans (Jake Abel); and ten great-grandchildren. Bernadine also leaves six brothers: Neal, Phillip (Bonnie), Paul (Brenda), Julian (Karen), Leon and Joseph (Karen) Hann, all of Southeast Missouri; six sisters: Delores Bee, Trinita Smith, Mary Rita Latham, Taffy (John) McMullin, Kathleen Moore and Eileen Hann, also of Southeast Missouri; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
