Obituary of Edith Marie Lauharn

Graveside Services for Edith Marie Lauharn of Ocean Springs, MS, formerly of Winfield, MO, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2022 at Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Rev. Kris Hagemeier pastor of Elsberry First Christian Church will officiate. Mrs. Lauharn, 93, passed away late Wednesday morning, June 1, 2022 at River Chase Village in Gautier, MS. Born November 24, 1928 in Charleston, WV, she was the daughter of Emmette and Merlie Burdette. Edith was united in marriage on June 7, 1950 in Charleston, WV to Arthur Russell Lauharn. This union was blessed with five children: Elesa, Frederick, Debra, Julie and Jeff. She worked as a janitor for Arthur’s Best Janitor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmette and Merlie Burdette, and her husband Arthur Russell Lauharn. Survivors include her children: Elesa Earnest and her husband, Chad, of Ocean Springs, MS, Frederick Lauharn and his wife, Ann Marie, of New York, Debra Lauharn of Biloxi, MS, Julie Cordes and her husband, Rick, of Napoleon, OH, and Jeffrey Lauharn and his wife Cyndie, of St Peters, MO; 10 grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Edith also leaves three brothers: Russell “Micky” Burdette of Akron, OH, Roger Burdette of West Virginia and Ricky Burdette and his wife, Karen, of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Graveside Services at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
