Obituary of Leonard Edward Hessling
Leonard E. Hessling
Funeral Services for Leonard Edward Hessling of Winfield, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Rev. Larry Gallaher will officiate with burial in Winfield Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Korman, Eric Korman, Drew Schlie, Beau Good, Tim Roberts and Jimmie Lee Hessling.
Mr. Hessling, 85, passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Lincoln in Troy, MO. Born April 23, 1937 in Lilbourn, MO he was the son of Aubrey Edward and Nola L’Vesta Hammett Hessling. Leonard was united in marriage on July 13, 1957 in St. Louis, MO to Deanna Berry. This union was blessed with four children: Sandra, Lisa, Jeffrey and Stephen. Leonard and Deanna enjoyed camping together over the years. Leonard also loved to fish, do woodworking and visit the dam where he would look at eagles. Leonard and his granddaughter would often spend time looking for geodes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey and Nola Hessling; one brother, Jim Hessling; and twin sisters: Pearline Wilson and Geraldine Hessling, who died as an infant; two sons: Jeffrey Hessling on July 25, 2017 and Stephen Hessling on February 18, 2021; one daughter, Sandra Korman on August 16, 2013; two grandsons: Gary Dale Nelsen and Darryl Lynn Korman; and his beloved wife of 64 years, Deanna Hessling, who died on October 19, 2021.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Nelsen of Winfield; one son-in-law, David Korman of New Florence, MO; and one daughter-in-law, Tami Hessling of Troy; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Leonard also leaves one brother, Glen Hessling and his wife, Pat, of Sikeston, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
