Obituary of Donna Jean Mayes

Memorial Services for Donna Jean Mayes of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Troy, MO. Rev. Gary McCracken, church pastor, will officiate. Donna, 63, passed away Monday morning, March 7, 2022, at her home. Born April 3, 1958 in Troy, MO, she was the daughter of Harold and Evelyn Beinke Reinker. Donna was a 1976 graduate of Elsberry High School. She was united in marriage on May 1977 in Troy to William Edward “Billy” Mayes. This union was blessed with three sons: Jeremy, Josh and Jason. Donna worked as a school secretary for several years and was a loving homemaker. Donna bowled on a women’s league for several years. Donna enjoyed scrapbooking with her friends and creating gorgeous memory keepsakes. She loved to travel and tending to her flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Evelyn Reinker. Survivors include her beloved husband of 44 years, Billy Mayes of Elsberry; their sons: Jeremy Mayes and his wife, Anne, of St. Louis, MO, Josh Mayes of Elsberry and Jason Mayes, also of Elsberry; and one grandson, Ryan Mayes. Donna also leaves her mother-in-law, Carol Mayes of Elsberry; one brother, Dale Reinker and his wife, Joan, of Troy; two sisters: Diane Feldkamp and her husband, Lew, of Warrenton, MO and Debbie Burger and her husband, Fred, of Elsberry; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church for the Bible School and Sunday School programs in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
