Obituary of James Albert Hedge

A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors for James Albert Hedge of Winfield, MO will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church in Elsberry, MO will officiate. Mr. Hedge, 80, passed away Tuesday evening, January 25, 2022 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born November 17, 1941 in East Prairie, MO, he was the son of Donald Roy and Nettie Mae Moody Hedge. James served his country in the United States Army from September 16, 1963 until his honorable discharge on August 26, 1966. He was united in marriage on December 1, 1965 in Monterey, CA to Marilynne (Mike) Earlene Lenz. This union was blessed with one daughter, Melissa. James retired from General Motors after 40 years of service. He was a life member of VFW Post #5517 in Winfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Nettie Hedge; two sisters: Virginia Sanford-Graff and LaWanda Phelps; and one brother, Donald Hedge. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years, Marilynne (Mike) Hedge of Winfield; their daughter, Melissa Schneider and her husband, Jim, of St. Peters, MO; other relatives and close friends.
