Obituary of Brenda Kay Newkirk

Memorial Visitations for Brenda Kay Turnbull Newkirk of Moberly, MO will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Moberly; and again from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at New Hope Baptist Church near Elsberry, MO. Brenda, 77, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, MO. Born May 12, 1944 in Winfield, MO, she was the daughter of James Edward and Margie Francis Waldron Moreland. Brenda was united in marriage on August 24, 1963 in Winfield to Shelby Turnbull. This union was blessed with three sons: Quentin, Scott and Jason. Brenda obtained her LPN License and worked in Nursing for many years. Brenda was married again on October 17, 2000 in Winfield to Frank Newkirk. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Moberly. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Margie Moreland; her first husband of 36 years, Shelby Turnbull, who died on February 24, 1999; and her second husband of 16 years, Frank Newkirk, who died on April 1, 2017. Survivors include her sons: Quentin Turnbull and his wife, Kara, of Moberly, Scott Turnbull of Moberly and Jason Turnbull and his wife, Amy, of Elsberry; two stepchildren: Albert Newkirk and his wife, Angie, of Cottleville, MO and Patricia Hight and her husband, Joe, of St. Clair, MO; thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Brenda also leaves one brother, Ed Moreland and his wife, Terri, of Fredericktown, MO; many other relatives and friends.
