Obituary of Mary Lou Hagemeier

A Memorial Mass for Mary Lou Hagemeier of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsberry. Fr. Charles Tichacek, church pastor, will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Elsberry City Cemetery. Mrs. Hagemeier, 97, passed away Friday afternoon, January 21, 2022, at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born February 28, 1924 in St. Peters, MO, she was the daughter of Frank J. and Gertrude M. Guenther Loeffler. Mary Lou was united in marriage on April 10, 1948 in St. Peters to Henry H. Hagemeier. This union was blessed with four children: Patty, Marty, Fred and Gary. Mary Lou was a loving homemaker who was known for baking rolls for various individuals, groups and occasions. She was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gertrude Loeffler; one brother, James Loeffler; two sisters: Betty Hercules and Eileen Wilcox; and her beloved husband of 46 years, Henry Hagemeier, who died on October 12, 1995. Survivors include her children: Patty Koch, Marty Gray, Fred Hagemeier and Gary “Pee Wee” Hagemeier and his wife, Joni, all of Elsberry; eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandson. Mary Lou also leaves one sister-in-law, Doris Loeffler of San Francisco, CA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to Masses at Sacred Heart Church, Joseph R. Palmer Family Memorial Library (or) Elsberry Health Care Center in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 107 S. 5th Street; Elsberry, MO 63343.
