I am so sorry for oyour loss. Words can't begin to express how you must feel at this sad time.
Please note the comforting thoughts at Psalm 34:18-19:
18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
God is near to us in that he is attentive and watchful, always ready to help us. To think that God watches over us, he sees what we go through, and he knows our innermost feelings. God knows at times we experience extreme hardships that break our heart. He even knows when we’re
discouraged and get so low in our own eyes that we may temporary lose hope.
Knowing all these things, God’s Word gives us hope of the resurrection, of being raised to life again. We can draw comfort from this hope when facing hardships, challenges, persecution, or danger. If the resurrection hope is real to us, it should shape our attitude about life. We should realize that whether we live or we die, we belong to God.
True, life is short right now. But it is not God’s purpose that we spend a few decades growing up and gaining some wisdom and experience, only to spend the next few decades breaking down and descending into illness and death. God created us to live forever. Thanks to the resurrection, we can enjoy that life on earth in the very near future. It’s a promise from God that we can trust.
