Obituary of Charles William Amman

Graveside Services for Charles William Amman of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Amman, 81, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at his home. Born January 9, 1940 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of Arthur Robert Amman and Mary Elizabeth Rountree-Amman. Charles served his country in the United States Marine Corps from March 11, 1958 until his honorable discharge on March 9, 1962. He worked for many years as an electrician. Charles was united in marriage on December 19, 1984 in St. Louis to Kim Renee Johnson. He was a member of American Legion Post #226 in Elsberry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Loraine; one daughter, Brittany Ahren-Chastain; Brothers David and Mike Amman; and his beloved wife of nearly 36 years, Kim Amman, who died on August 23, 2020. Survivors include his children: Tammie Chastain and her husband, Doug, of Winfield, MO, Charlene Luckett and her husband, Nick, of St. Charles, MO, Misty Amman of Elsberry, and Charlie Chastain of Winfield; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Charles also leaves behind many siblings: Bobby Amman and his wife, Mary, Billy Amman and his wife, Joyce, Art Amman, Mary Amman, and Jeannie Amman, Tina Mirgirt, and Debra Yates; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
