Obituary of Lawrence Edward Lindsey

Funeral Services for Lawrence Edward “Larry” Lindsey of Ashland, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO. Fr. Richard Rath, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe, MO will officiate with burial in Whispering Winds Cemetery near Winfield. Mr. Lindsey, 94, passed away late Wednesday morning, December 15, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Bluff Nursing Home in Jefferson City, MO. Born September 2, 1927 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of William Pike and Ruth Jane Dillon Lindsey. As a young boy, Larry attended the local country school. He served his country in the United States Army. Larry was united in marriage on December 21, 1946 in Winfield, MO to Ruby Lee Elston. This union was blessed with two sons: John and Jack. Larry worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Operating Engineers Local #513 for 70 years. He also built many houses in the eastern part of Winfield. Larry was a member of American Legion Post #420 in Old Monroe, MO and of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Pike and Ruth Lindsey; and his siblings: Robert “Bud” Lindsey, John Lindsey, Dillon Lindsey, Charles “Shots” Lindsey, Phillip Lindsey, Gene Lindsey and Mary Jane Schalk. Survivors include his beloved wife of 75 years, Ruby Lindsey of Ashland; and their sons: John Lindsey and his wife, Gloria, of Ashland and Jack Lindsey of Jefferson City. Larry also leaves two grandchildren: Jeremy Lindsey and Joshua Lindsey and his wife, Breanna, all of Ashland; three great-grandchildren: Carley, Brent and Edith; many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
