Obituary of Artie Murrel Millikan

Funeral Services for Artie Murrel Millikan of Elsberry, MO will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Kris Hagemeier, pastor of the Elsberry First Christian Church, will officiate with burial in Elsberry City Cemetery in Elsberry, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be Billy Stradford, Billy Millikan, Larry Millikan, Steve Millikan, Danny Capps, Bill Millikan, Ronnie Vaughn, Thomas Hensley and Michael Romanchuk. Ms. Millikan, 74, passed away early Monday morning, December 13, 2021, at the Elsberry Health Care Center near Elsberry. Born April 16, 1947 in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Murrel and Margie Milligan Millikan. Artie was a graduate of Normandy High School. She worked as a CNA for the Elsberry Health Care Center for many years, retiring in 1996. After becoming a resident at the Elsberry Health Care Center herself, Artie volunteered her time by becoming the unofficial greeter, leading Bible Study, and reading and singing to her fellow residents. The family would like to thank the Elsberry Health Care Center for their loving care and support for Artie over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Murrel and Margie Millikan; one sister, Grace Stradford; one brother, Albert Millikan; and one nephew, Robert Millikan. Survivors include one brother, Bill Millikan of St. Louis; and one sister-in-law, Lorna Millikan of Troy, MO. She also leaves her nieces and nephews: Kelli Millikan of Troy, Steve Millikan and his wife, Jamie, of Elsberry, Becki Capps and her husband, Danny, of Elsberry, Billy Stradford of Elsberry, Billy Millikan of St. Louis, Larry Millikan of Louisville, KY and Tommy Stradford and his wife, Kacey, of Sandy, OR; her great-niece, Megan Hensley and her husband, Thomas, of Florissant, MO; several great, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and many, many friends at the Elsberry Health Care Center. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry.
