Obituary of Paul James Lindner
A Mass of Christian Burial for Paul James Lindner of Old Monroe, MO will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church near Old Monroe. Fr. Richard Rath, church pastor, will officiate with burial in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Mr. Lindner, 89, passed away Sunday morning, November 28, 2021 at SSM St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO. Born May 30, 1932 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of John Joseph and Gladys Barbara Waltmueller Lindner. Paul served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1955. He was united in marriage on August 28, 1981 in St. Louis to Jane Doris Meinhardt. Paul worked as a material handler for Continental Can and Sonoco Drum, retiring in 1991 after 38 years of employment. Paul was a member of Teamsters Local #688 in St. Louis; and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Lindner; one brother, Raymond Lindner; one grandson, David Lindner, Jr. in 2006; and his beloved wife, Jane Lindner on August 8, 2017.
Survivors include his children: David Lindner and his wife, Carol, of Warrenton, MO; Anna Irvin and her husband, Gary, of Troy, MO, Jean Samons of Troy and Barbara Stumph, also of Troy; seven grandchildren, thirty step-grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, 27 step-great-grandchildren and six great, great-grandchildren. Paul also leaves his stepchildren: Robert Tucker of Ballwin, MO, Janet Wilson and her husband, Tim, of Florissant, MO, Mary Ann Kettner and her husband, Steve, of High Ridge, MO, Susan Arras and her husband, Michael, of St. Louis, David Tucker and his wife, Christine, of Ebensburg, PA, Joan Shaw and her husband, Dick, of Grover, MO, Shirley Schomaker and her husband, Dennis, of Florissant, MO, Donna Shoptaugh and her husband, Michael, of Hillsboro, MO and Jane Jackson and her husband, Lee, of DeSoto, MO; one brother, Marvin Lindner of Shula Vista, CA; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield. Memorials may be made to Masses (or) I.C. Building Fund in care of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home, 3838 East Highway 47, P.O. Box 253, Winfield, MO 63389.
