Obituary of Dennis Lee Callaway

Dennis Lee Callaway, 67, of Elsberry, MO passed away Thursday evening, October 21, 2021 at his home near Elsberry. Born January 10, 1954 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Paul Clinton and Mary Margaret “Peggy” Lehman Callaway. He was a 1973 graduate of Berkley High School in St. Louis. Dennis was employed for many years as the Maintenance Supervisor at Camden Apartments in St. Louis, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and trapping. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Peggy Callaway; one brother, Chuck Callaway; and one brother-in-law, Ron Dieleman. He is survived by his daughter, Tami Hartley and her husband, Mike, of Elsberry; and four grandchildren: Michael Hartley, Devin Hartley, Zach Barber and Blake Callaway. Dennis also leaves one brother, Ronnie Callaway and his wife, Teannie, of O’Fallon, MO; two sisters: Connie Billington and her husband, Tom, of Bridgeton, MO, and Donna Dieleman of Lake Ozark, MO; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
